The solar-powered floating hot tub was a full-scale built component of a spa design project. A cedar tub was set in a floating deck which carried a solar collector, photovoltaic cell and circulating pump. After a plunge in the cold waters of the North Atlantic the warm haven of the tub was pure ecstasy. The tub was aired on national television.
